Intro of 12 lead ECG/EKG
Hello World, I’m Saiful Islam and I’m a paramedic and today I’m talking to you How to perform a 12 lead ECG/EKG. To carry out an electrocardiogram on a patient an ECG for short.
How to prepare this
Step one
The first thing we need to do is prepare the area. Because we want good contact with the pots.
So if the patient is excessively hairy we’re going to shave that area. This patient is okay and sure dry off any fluids are honey sweat the baby in place.
When we were playing the pads I would normally prepare the pads at first by attaching the duct to the wire like. So that way we don’t cause the patient any undue stress but pushing the monitoring dot on to be patient.
When we’re applying the leaks you can use the acronym from the right shoulder. Right your green bike to help you remember where to put the leads.
So the first of all one we’re going to put in is the Ray placing it on to the top right shoulder.
Step two
The next one – your four yellow greed is what it says on the tin agree. This can be put in two areas. We can put it down here on the trunk which is usually used in a pre-hospital environment or it can be put on the inside of the ankle of the lid for the purpose of this demonstration.
It’s going on to the trunk screen and the last one then is b4 black or as my acronym says bike right. You’re free play happy that the lilies are in place. We’ll now go on to the chest leads. Now put it on the chest needs we first landmark the fourth intercostal space.
It’s a comment from the clavicle bone one two three four and again using our acronym except there’s a bit added to it.
Step three
This time right your green bike backward violently you can make up your own acronym. These are color coded but are also numbered should you wish to use the numbers tree or and the first pad goes to the right hand side of the central chess board in that
fourth intercostal space .

The next is yellow which we’ll call straight across at the left side of that central chess board again on the fourth intercostal space.
The next is green which goes into the fifth intercostal space which is just below a port .
After one is brown I can’t go in to the fort are worthy .The fifth intercostal space in the mid-clavicular line. So here’s the midclavicular line coming straight down four goes on.
Then one is black test lead 5 again in the fifth intercostal space to the front or anterior aspect of the mid-axillary line.
And then six chest lead. It’s to the anterior aspect again the front side of the mid-axillary line. which is just below the armpit after you place under 12 leads.
Conclusion
you know what to get your printout from your machine familiarize yourself with ECG in your local area. Turn on the machine and advise the patient to not call and sit completely still please don’t talk stay as still as you can when they’re happy as still as you can. So the machine will monitor patient heart rhythm and then we’ll give you a printout called ECG take this printout to advance karaoke.
